Christmas Classroom Door Decorations: Diy, Common, and One-of-a-Kind Ideas

Christmas Classroom Door Decorations

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is a time for family, friends, and fun. It's also a great time to get creative with your classroom decorations. Whether you're looking for some DIY ideas or want to buy something pre-made, we've got you covered. In this blog post, we'll talk about some of the most popular Christmas door decorations. We'll also show you how to use DoorFoto Christmas door wraps to create a one-of-a-kind look for your class!

And when you choose what decorations you want for your door, maybe think about having a holiday door decorating contest with the rest of the school!

Wreaths

One of the most popular Christmas door decorations is a wreath. Wreaths are relatively easy to make, and you can find some great DIY tutorials online. We think a cute idea would be to make a wreath big enough to be able to put a photo of each one of your students on it, as decorations! Another idea would be to create a wreath out of construction paper in your school colors and have the students help you decorate it to make it their own.

If you're not the DIY type, you can also buy pre-made wreaths at most stores. Stores have a plethora of Christmas wreath theme design options around this time of year such as Christmas lights, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, elves, presents, and more! You can also find wreaths with different Christmas sayings on them like “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.”

If you want to have an option that puts DIY and pre-made together, you could always order a custom wreath for your classroom door decorations. For example, you could have one made with mini pencils and composition notebooks on it to fit that school theme. Or you could have one made with your school colors and the Christmas message you want on it. The options are really endless when you go the custom route!

Christmas Tree

Another popular decoration is a Christmas tree. You can either buy a small tree to put next to your classroom door or make one out of bulletin board paper or wrapping paper to go on your door. If you want to make a paper Christmas tree, you can find some great tutorials online.

Another cute idea would be to have each of your students create their own little Christmas tree out of paper... and then all of the mini trees can be pasted on your classroom door to create one big tree!

If you want to have a three-dimensional tree next to your door this holiday season, small trees are easy to find and relatively inexpensive. You can find them at most stores that sell Christmas decorations. Once you have your tree, you can decorate it however you want! You could use lights, garland, ornaments, and more. This is a great option if you want something easy to set up and take down. Plus, your students can help you decorate the tree as well.

If you want to get creative, yet not spend your time on decorating, you can use DoorFoto Christmas door wraps that look like a tree! Check out this "Christmas Tree Balls" DoorFoto for example... this would be the perfect decoration for your classroom door! Since DoorFotos install on your door in 28 seconds like a fitted bed sheet, you will have no problems finding the time to decorate your classroom door.

But, if you still happen not to find the design you are looking for, you can even upload your own photos and design a completely custom Christmas door wrap. Or, we have specific customizable DoorFotos that you can use our design online tools to create exactly what you want that way as well. (You could even add all of your students' names onto the DoorFoto!)

String lights

Another timeless Christmas decoration that you can add to your classroom door is a string of Christmas lights. This is a great way to add some extra Christmas cheer to your door! You can buy Christmas lights at most stores that sell Christmas decorations. Plus, they’re usually pretty inexpensive. Once you have your lights, you can either string them up around your door or just put them on the door itself. Either way, they’ll look great!

Around this time of the year, there are tons of options for Christmas lights such as LED Christmas lights, solar Christmas lights, battery-operated Christmas lights or even lights made from paper. You can find Christmas lights in different colors or even lights that are controlled with an app on your phone now too! So, if you want your classroom door to stand out, try using some colored Christmas lights.

Plus, this decoration won't take long to put up, yet it will still look fantastic on your door!

Christmas bells

Christmas bells are a classic Christmas decoration, and they look great on classroom doors! You can find these at most stores, or you can make your own. Once you have your bells, you can either hang them up around your door or just put them on the door itself. If you do put them on the door, each time you open the door the bells will ring... so make sure you are ready for that cheerful noise!

But if you want to have Christmas bells without the noise, you can always make your own bells out of paper. This is a great option if you’re looking for something quick and easy to make. Plus, your students can help you make them just like they can help personalize a Christmas tree on your door too!

Or, if you want a Christmas door decoration that is more unique, check out this "Cow Bells Ringing" DoorFoto design. Your students are sure to love the little cow with the Santa hat on and the funny play on words!

Ornaments

Ornaments are another great Christmas decoration that you can use to decorate your classroom door. You can buy or make these, and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes. You can also find ornaments that are specifically designed for Christmas trees, wreaths, and more. So, if you want to add some ornaments to your door, make sure you get the right kind!

You can also find Christmas ornaments in a variety of colors. If you want your classroom door to pop, try using some colorful ornaments. You can also find Christmas ornaments that light up, which will add an extra bit of Christmas cheer to your door!

If you wanted to choose a theme of ornaments, you could go that route too. Let's say you love reindeer... you could find Christmas ornaments that are shaped like reindeer, have reindeer on them, or are even just the color brown.

Another cute idea would be to let your students create their own special ornaments. This can be done out of wrapping paper, or you could get some ornament molds and do it that way! Either way, it’s a great way to add a personal touch to your Christmas door decoration.

Snowman

Some more ideas would be to use snowmen on your holiday classroom doors! This is a great decoration for kids, and it's relatively easy to make. This can become a fun classroom activity for you and your students to do together.

The students can make up different outfits/decorations to put on the snowman, however often you would like! Or you could even make decorating the snowman a fun reward for the students.

This Christmas door decoration is also great because it can be used year after year. Just make sure to keep the snowman in a safe place so that it doesn’t get damaged!

Or you can grab this "Snowman Door Decorations" DoorFoto and put this on your Christmas door instead! This snowman design can easily be the main attraction to your classroom Christmas decorations, yet can also compliment other decorations too! And since DoorFotos are machine washable, you could use this DoorFoto year after year in your classroom so you never have to buy another Christmas classroom door decoration again.

Gingerbread House/Gingerbread Man

Another Christmas decoration that you could use for your classroom door is a gingerbread house or gingerbread man. This is a great option if you want something that looks nice and Christmas-y, but doesn’t take too much time to make.

You could decorate your door with a giant gingerbread man, or you could have your students each make their own mini gingerbread man and hang all of those on the door!

Or, you can decorate your classroom door to look like a gingerbread house so it feels like you are walking into that instead of a classroom! This would be a fun way for you and the students to enter the classroom each day and get into the holiday spirit.
